Awakening the Sleeping Brain
Re-activating Cognitive Capacity After Head Impact
Many people have had accidents in which they experienced mild head/brain impact during such activities as playing sports, riding bicycles, driving cars, getting in and out of the bathtub, etc. A significant portion of these people have some loss of cognitive skill even many years after injury, though they rarely realize the cause.
The Awakening the Sleeping Brain session will re-activate idling neuron zones and quickly restore functioning in that area. For instance, if you had a brain impact at the frontal cortex (forehead) area, you may have problems with memory, decision-making and concentration. Blows to the back of the head could result in difficulties with vision, coordination and balance or breathing. Because the idling neuron zones are areas that are not actually damaged but only un-necessarily stuck in “idling,” they can quickly and safely be re-activated. Idling neurons zones are only identified as such after sufficient time has passed since the traumatic event.
The one-hour sessions consists of identifying an appropriate goal and being guided through Brain Gym® and other simple, non-invasive mind-body techniques. Usually one session is all that is needed. Clients will return after 1 week for an additional short appointment to confirm progress and receive further coaching in re-training any lost ability, now returned.
Please contact us to schedule an appointment or to learn more about the process.
