The Problem: Chronic Brain Distress

Chronic Brain Distress is a state of persistent neuro-physiological stress* which strains or limits the development of skills related to attention, learning, thinking, sensory and emotional processing, motor movement and general development.

The term “Chronic Brain Distress” (CBD) refers to a framework for understanding brain-based problems learning, reading, attention, listening, hearing, moving and general development that are the result of stress rather than biological or psychological pathology.  As such the identified stress may be alleviated through mind-body training methods.  The CBD framework offers a new lens of perception, allowing us to see differently, and to generate solutions in a productive, helpful, new way.  It is designed to help people with problems common to attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities, developmental delay, post-traumatic stress and post-concussive syndrome but that originate in stress rather than pathology.

The PowerLearn Brainworks Program is an innovative program designed to dissolve CBD, allowing participants to lead happier, fuller, more effective lives.

* Stress:  a specific response by a body to a stimulus, which disturbs or interferes with the normal physiological equilibrium.
